This is the basic game that I made before, but I added a shaking effect to the screen when Samus comes into contact with a Metroid. Both her and her health bar shake indicating the damage taken. I also added a death animation from the game when the players health reaches 0 by creating my own timer.

The shaking effect on the health bar was a great touch, it makes the loss of health have more impact. And the death animation transitioning to the game-over screen felt right out of a classic metroidvania. Nice job!

I like the additional elements you've included to the game. The background music, vibration effects to the hp bar, death animation, as well as the start and game over screens all fits with the overall theme.

I like how when Samus gets hit by a Metroid the screen shakes, indicating that she took damage. I also like how the game transitions into a different animation when you lose all your health. I think the game would be even better if you could make her shoot the Metroids or have her be able to move a little bit faster but I enjoy it overall.
